Where We Get Our Information

We don’t like to make things up. We base our decisions on reliable sources—and we continue to learn, because even we don’t have all the answers.

Official and scientific sources

For data on energy, climate, and nature, we turn to government agencies, environmental organizations, and scientifically grounded reports—not to the random opinions of the day.

Local knowledge

We also learn a lot from the people around us: nature guides from the Scheldt Valley, skilled professionals, and other hospitable business owners who are grappling with the same questions.

Honest About Doubt

Sometimes the answer isn’t black and white. In those cases, we prefer to say so, and we choose what seems most responsible at that moment. Evolving understanding is part of the process.

Looking for it yourself

No rules, just what helped us—take what works for you.

  • Verify bold claims against a reliable, independent source.
  • Be skeptical of “green” marketing without evidence—ask how it works.
  • Talk to people who are doing it; experience often teaches you more than a brochure.
