The people behind ScraB&Ble
We, Ann & Jan, are your hosts during your stay at ScraB&Ble.
We’ve lived here since 2017. Shortly after that, our three children left home—which freed up some rooms and allowed us to start our B&B. We’d lived together in every province, but here in Weert we found what we were looking for: peace, quiet, and nature.
Behind everything we do lies a single motivation: our children and grandchildren, and the world we want to leave them. You can read more about this under Sustainability.
Where does the name ScraB&Ble come from?
Scrabble-IT is the name of Jan’s business. Scrabble has always been a favorite word game of ours—complete with all the excitement and debates that come with it. But it also stands for flexibility: with Scrabble, you can make just about any word you want, and it’s precisely that flexibility that defines the business.
It’s our way of avoiding the rat race and focusing on things that really matter (or so we think). And the “IT” in Scrabble-IT? It refers not only to “scrabble it,” but also to the industry where Jan used to work—and which he still dabbles in from time to time.
