The greenest material is the one that already exists. Much of what you see here has been given a second life\u2014and often gained character in the process. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Secondhand with a story<\/h2>

We bought furniture, doors, cabinets, and decorative items secondhand whenever possible, or repurposed them from other projects. It saves on raw materials, and none of the rooms looks like something out of a catalog. <\/p>

Building with Care<\/h2>

During construction, we opted for natural and reusable materials\u2014wood, cellulose, and sustainable finishes. When the building is eventually demolished, most of it can be returned to the recycling cycle. <\/p>

Repair Before We Replace<\/h2>

If something breaks, we first check to see if it can be repaired. A staple, a glue clamp, a new part\u2014often, the item will last for years afterward. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
